Our People

Care & Repair is made up of a team of full and part-time staff, volunteers and a Board of Directors.

The Staff

Debbie Robertson Debbie Robertson Chief Executive
Debbie is a Town Planner by profession with substantial experience in building repair and adaptation. She has a keen interest in housing, elderly and disabled issues and has over 25 years of service delivery experience, having worked both in the public and third sectors.


Kenny Telfer Kenny Telfer Service Manager
Responsible for overall operational management of all our services. Kenny has a background in surveying and building adaptations having worked for housing associations, the public and private sector.


 

Mary Grainger Care and Repair Administrator
Mary is responsible for administering our Home from Hospital Service and general administration for the company.

 



Lynda Marr Lynda Marr Care and Repair Administrator
Lynda is responsible for administering our Small Repairs, Handyperson and Trade Referrals service and has worked for a number of housing associations and the third sector.


Gary Robertson Gary Robertson Care and Repair Joiner
Gary has 25 years' experience working with our client group carrying out small repairs, small adaptations and fitting keysafes.


Collin Stuart Collin Stuart Care and Repair Joiner
Collin carries out keysafe fitting, small repairs and small adaptations for our Hospital Discharge Service.


Graeme Tait Graeme Tait Finance Officer
Graeme is responsible for our financial management systems and governance reporting. He is a management accountant with over 20 years' experience in the public and third sectors.



The Board

Andrew Mitchell

Andrew Mitchell Chair
Director of an Edinburgh-based design and marketing company. Has previous experience in health and social care and working with people with a wide range of disabilities. Married with two children.



Esme Yuille

Esmee Yuille Vice Chair
Esmee, who was born and bred in Edinburgh, trained as an R.G.N, R.M.N and was in nursing for 20 years before moving to a middle management position working with disabled and the elderly, so has a good knowledge of the needs and vulnerabilities of Care & Repair's client group. Esmee, who is now retired, is married with two children and five grandchildren.



David Elder

David Elder
David, 56, has been retired for four years after working for 35 years in the financial sector and has a diverse professional background with extensive experience in finance, audit, marketing and support services. Recently he has been involved with charities, assisting them with their fund raising and development. David is married with two grown up children.



Simon Maclaren

Simon Maclaren
Simon Maclaren works as a freelance accountant and consultant specialising in charities. He has worked throughout the UK and in Africa. In his spare time he is also a performance poet.



Elaine MacMaster

Elaine MacMaster
Elaine was appointed as director in July 2008. For 6 years Elaine has been working as HR Manager for Aspen Hamilton Care Management an independent health care provider in Edinburgh.  Prior to taking on a new career in HR she was a Registered Nurse working for the NHS for 7 years.



David Price

David Price
David trained as an architect at Heriot-Watt University and went on to have an interesting and varied career, working on a range of projects throughout Scotland.

In 1994 he took up a position with one of Scotland’s larger Housing Associations to manage their maintenance department. David continued working with Housing Associations until taking early retirement in 2008.

As well as having an interest in Care and Repair, David holds a part-time position with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.



Ashlie Turner

Ashlie Turner
After graduating, Ashlie joined a Graduate Management Programme which led to various HR management positions within retail, management consultancy and investment operations before heading up the HR department for Scottish law firm, Tods Murray, for nine years. Ashlie is now the managing director of HR outsourcing company, Magenta HR, and works with small - medium sized businesses and third sector organisations providing general HR support. Over the past few years, Ashlie has been heavily involved in Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes and has managed a number of initiatives which support local charities. Ashlie has been a member of the board of Care & Repair Edinburgh since 2007.
