Why not volunteer for us?
On giving up full-time work I found I had some spare time on my hands volunteering sounded quite interesting and I found Care and Repair Edinburgh. I do a couple of hours, two mornings a week helping with office duties. Thoroughly enjoying it – it keeps my mind active – and have met some interesting people.
We need volunteers in the following areas:
- Handyperson Service
- Helping out in the office
- Assisting with fundraising and marketing.
The Handyperson Service relies on its team of volunteers and we are always looking for new recruits.
Volunteers can claim out-of-pocket expenses and are fully insured whilst carrying out Handyperson Service duties. The provision of introductory training, guidance, support and backup from the office staff is always available.
Interaction between volunteers through group meetings and social activities are seen as important, and volunteers are encouraged to attend.
All our volunteers gain job satisfaction by knowing they are a valued resource within the local community.
